EVERY WORD OF GOD FOR DAILY LIVING BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA:

TITLE: GOD’S VIEW ON CHILDLESSNESS IS NOT THE SAME WITH THE WORLD’S
DATE: TUESDAY MARCH 30, 2021
TEXT: Isaiah 55:8-9
KEY VERSE: Luke 1:6-7 ‘And they were both righteous before God, … blameless. And they had no child because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.’
Not having children is considered a challenge in the world. The person who has many of them might be crying, “I have too many children,” while the person who does not have might be crying, “I do not have a child. I need children!” That is the pattern in the world. But Christianity is different from the world. If you want to see things in the eye of the world, you will fall. As a Christian family, even though childless, you should remain righteous and godly. Consider Zachariah and Elizabeth and understand their case well.
In Luke 1:5-7, the Bible shows that they were not wayward people. It was not that Elizabeth committed a sin and did many abortions. No! It was not that Zachariah did a thing that brought a curse on his family. No! They were both righteous before God. Does God not fight for the righteous? Could not God have arisen on this matter and fought for them? He fought for them in many other areas, but on this one, He did not bother because it was in His perfect will. He was going to be glorified in this area. So, He did not do anything about it. And they were walking in all commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. They had no sin before God. They were not self-righteous but scripturally righteous. They were divinely declared righteous, yet they had no child. Not for one year or two or five years, but until both were well stricken in years. Understand the scriptures and think well towards your brother and sister in this condition. Do not make your brethren feel ashamed because they have no children.
Do not give shame to yourself. God will give you glory. You have no child but you will have the glory of God. Jesus was nailed naked on the cross but there has been nobody more glorious than Him. Adam and Eve were both naked but they were not ashamed. Why? Because divine glory covered them. Zachariah and Elizabeth had no child, but they lived well among men. You too will live well among men. Be righteous. Be holy. Do not blame each other. Do not accuse each other. Do not listen to accusations from outside. Do not bother yourself with the negative reactions of relatives who do not know the Lord. Your case is different. God is working all things for your future good; for your eternal good and for the glory of His name in your life. Therefore, let both the husband and the wife, remain righteous and peaceful.
Thought for the day: Value your relationship with Jesus above having a child.
Song for the day: Take glory Almighty God, take glory Almighty God.
