TEXT: 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 KJV

1Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
10 And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

Key verse:  Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Love is a generous giver, so learn to give. When you give, it is a sign that you have love. Love does good works for others. We can see that in Christ. In John 3:16 Bible says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Look at that verse again, “For God so loved the world that He gave…” Love gives. A very good property of love is giving. God demonstrated that by giving His Son. Jesus also demonstrated His love by giving His life: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).  Again scripture says in Mark 10:45, For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. So love gives. Learn how to do it. Give money, time, property, whatever. What makes a marriage to be heaven on earth is not the money; it is not the house lived in; it is not the type of bed slept on; it is not the food eaten, but love. Let the man give his wife beautiful love, pouring these properties of love upon her, she will be living in heaven on earth. Let the wife show her husband love, pouring these properties of love: smile, laughter, play, whatever. The man will be peaceful and happy; he will be at rest.

Let us love one another. Bible says let all your things be done with charity – your relationships, your interaction, your communication, your all should carry love with it. Let all your things be done with charity. In John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another.” Is the commandment really new? It is actually the old commandment that has been there from the beginning – love. Now, it is renewed before you. You want a revival of your life, you want freshness, you want to be fit for Heaven; then have fervent charity in your heart and start living a life of love. Love shall cover the multitude of sins and bring you to perfection. If you want to go to Heaven, if you want revival, think about this now. Begin a life of love as if it is a new commandment you are receiving. Tell yourself you are going to practice love towards everyone around you. Amen!
