TITLE: MANIFESTATION OF ADAMIC NATURE IN BELIEVERS

DATE: SUNDAY, 19TH DECEMBER, 2021

TEXT: LUKE 22:24-27
(24) And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
(25) And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
(26) But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
(27) For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

KEY VERSE:
 1 CORINTHIANS 9: 17
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

It is commonly known of believers that after salvation experience the heart still shows up some filth, provoked by time and circumstances. You may not notice filth immediately when you are born again because of the joy and happiness.  However, with time, as you remain a Christian you begin to have some tensions and feelings that you do not actually approve of. You do not approve of them because of inherited and inbred sin. These are not actual sins of fornication, drunkenness and others. This one deals with the heart. That is why God said “My son, give Me your heart. I want to make it righteous. I want to do another operation on the heart that will make it whiter than snow.” God says so because even among the disciples of Jesus, He observed a lifestyle that showed filth and dirt.

From today’s Key verse, we can see the self-seeking attitude manifested by the apostles. The self is not dead. They were children of God but self-seeking and self-promotion was manifested in them. They were not thinking of how to glorify God. Holiness had not been achieved completely in their lives because there was a struggle.  Although they may not act openly to avoid embarrassment, within them there was a struggle on who is better than the other. There is a desire to make self-known. God makes a man known, but you want to make yourself known. You want to announce your good works. You want people to know that you are different, carrying different anointing. Everyone everywhere should know that you are special.

This shows that Holiness is not complete. This manifests in those who still have the remains of sin, Adamic nature and inward pollution in them. Is this what God wants in your life? It is not in a man to show forth his Glory. Let another man praise you and not yourself. The tension is disturbing you inside and before you know, it manifests. The inside tension is the Adamic nature which needs a second touch.
