TITLE: YOU CAN LIVE ABOVE SIN IN THIS WORLD AS JESUS DID

DATE: SATURDAY MARCH 27, 2021

TEXT: John 3:1-100

KEY VERSE: 1 John 2:29 ‘If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.’

When Jesus walked on water, the Holy Spirit dropped in Peter’s heart that he too can do what he saw his Lord doing. Man on earth can do whatever Jesus did, and even more! Jesus told His disciples, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). Like Jesus, man on earth can live a holy life above sins on earth. Man can walk on top of the waters of sin that covers the earth. Man can walk over the waters of temptations, the various shaking, the demonic forces, and you will remain spiritually stable, living above every kind of sin. When the Holy Spirit dropped this in Peter’s heart, he immediately told Jesus, “Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water” (Matthew 14:28). I want you to understand this because they are deceiving you that in this life you cannot live a victorious life over sin. They are deceiving you that because of the works of Satan; the powers of Satan that works as mighty winds blowing upon the earth, that it is impossible to live without committing sin. That is a deceit!

1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Jesus brought power from heaven to make you live above sin. Peter said “Lord, if you are the one, invite me to come.” What did Jesus say in the next verse? He said, “Come!” That word carries power for the word of God is quick, and powerful. The word of God is very power. Paul wrote, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth” (Romans 1:16). The word releases power. Power to do what? First, it is the power to overcome sin; power to defeat sin. When Jesus said to Peter “come” and Peter came down from the ship, he walked straight on the water to meet Jesus. I don’t know the distance Peter walked but he walked on top of the water for a time, which showed that it is possible for man to walk on top of the water of sin victoriously without sinking. Praise the Lord!

Thought for the day: Jesus has given you the power to live above sin in this life to enter heaven.

Song for the day: Forever, oh Lord, Thy word is settled in Heaven….
